Description of Volunteer Opportunities
Artist Booth Sitters
Sit at an artist’s booth to allow them to take a break, usually lasting ½ hour each. A volunteer will usually help out 4 or 5 different artists during a shift. All artists are located either in the main tent or inside the museum.
Admissions
You will welcome people to the festival, take tickets at the gate, hand out programs, and/or stamp hands to allow re-entry. You will NOT be selling admission tickets.
Soda
You will dispense and serve soda to thirsty customers.
LFOA Boutique
You will sell various festival promotional items, such as t-shirts, sweatshirts, posters, etc. Greeting and encouraging prospective customers is part of the fun.
Silent Auction
Friday morning you will set up the displays (and have an opportunity to meet the artists). During the festival, you will greet patrons and assist them in placing their bids.
Parking
You will direct people in parking their cars, loading the shuttle buses, and possibly finding their cars when they leave the festival.
Children’s Art Center
The Children’s Art Center provides an opportunity for children to create art. As a volunteer in this area, you will help with setup and assist children with their art activities. You do not have to create the art, and it is not necessary to be artistic. You do, however, need to enjoy working with children and be available to help them as needed.
