Dear
Friend,
This is another exciting year for the Lakefront Festival of Arts.
We've been busy planning for the 46th Festival - June 20, 21, and 22.
We hope you will join us this year as a volunteer. Volunteers are
indispensable to the success of the Festival. We need over 800
volunteers to greet guests, sell promotional items, dispense refreshments, supervise
children's craft projects, help with parking, take bids at the Silent
Auction Tent, "booth sit" for artists in need of a break, and help with many
other tasks. Please indicate your first, second and third preferences
for a task and time slot.
We try our best to assign you to the task you
request so the earlier you register the better. Assignments are made
on a first come, first serve basis. If you would like to work with a
friend, please include his or her name in the space provided on your
registration form. Feel free to pass on our web address or print this
form for other people who are interested.
Remember that volunteers get free admission to
the Festival and free parking near the grounds. It's a great deal and
a lot of fun!
You will
be notified via email or mail of your assignment and sent your parking pass
and ticket two to three weeks prior to the Festival.
If you have any questions about volunteering at this year's Lakefront
Festival of the Arts, please email Michelle Dwyer or Sandi Lewenauer at
lfoavolunteers@yahoo.com
or call Michelle at
414-482-0565.
Your
participation is important! Thank you for your support!

WILLING TO HELP ANYWHERE
We appreciate if you sign up this way, so we may place you where
there is the greatest need. If you choose this option, but there is
a particular area that you would NOT like to volunteer, simply enter
it on the Volunteer Registration Form in the designated box (field).
ADMISSIONS
You will welcome people to the Festival, take tickets at the gate,
hand out programs, and/or stamp hands to allow re-entry. You will
NOT be selling admission tickets.
ARTIST BOOTH SITTING
By choosing this job, you give artists a break from selling their
artwork, freeing them to get Lunch, look at the rest of the
festival, or take care of other business. You'll work out of the
Artist Committee Tent and be assigned to various artists' booths as
needed during your shift. *NOTE: Shift times vary as indicated on
the Volunteer Registration Form.
BIKE CORRAL
You will help watch bikes that are parked in the corral.
CHILDREN'S ART CENTER
The Children's Art Center provides an opportunity for children to
create art. As a volunteer in this area you will help set up and
assist children with their art activities. You do not have to create
the art, and it is not necessary to be artistic to help. You do need
to enjoy working with children and be available to help them as
needed.
COLLEGE ART SHOW
You will welcome visitors to the College Art Show, and give
information about the exhibit.
LFOA BOUTIQUE
You will sell various festival promotional items, such as t-shirts,
sweatshirts, posters, etc. Greeting and encouraging prospective
customers is part of the fun.
SILENT AUCTION
Friday morning you will set up the displays (and have an opportunity
to meet the artists). During the Festival you will greet patrons and
assist them in placing their bids.
SODA
You will dispense and serve soda to thirsty customers.
PARKING
You will direct people in parking their cars, loading the shuttle
buses, and possibly finding their cars when they leave the festival.
